Out of Town

Initially we were supposed to spend this past weekend camping, but in the end, decided against it.  The week before had been extremely busy, and I just wasn't up to packing for the trip.  Also, we couldn't afford for Brent to take another unpaid day from work (he only has a couple paid sick days left, so we're saving those for the rest of the year).

Instead we headed out to Mulino, OR to BBQ with friends and family for the evening.  The most stressful part was fighting Friday rush hour traffic, but after 2 hours we made it to our destination.  Our friends, Glenn and Jean, were so happy to see Liam.  It had been 6 months since their last visit.

Admittedly I forgot to take a picture of Glenn and Jean while we visited, but here's a pic from the week before when they hiked with other friends of ours. (Left to right: Glenn, Jean, Jen, Matt)
After 2 hours trapped in the car, Liam was very happy to get out and run around.  He got even more excited when Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie arrived.

Liam headed down our friends property in search of blackberries with Grandpa.

Soon Auntie came by on the 4 wheeler, and Grandpa and Liam hopped on for a ride.

As the evening wound down, the family gathered for a picture on the deck.

The whole family... almost.  We're just missing my brother and his wife.  I told my sister that we should create cardboard cutouts of them.  Then we can include them in family pictures since they live out of state.
Liam stayed up way past his bedtime.  He was so tired, that he happily snuggled on our laps.  Liam never does this anymore.  He always wants to be moving around.  I guess the day tuckered him out.

I love my boys <3

We finished the evening by the fire with marshmallows and raspberry pie.  It was a fabulous visit.
