Around Valentines day, we tried going to the Riverview Restaurant out in Troutdale, OR. Unfortunately, after getting all dressed up, and making it out to my parent's house, we discovered the restaurant is closed on Mondays. Instead, we went to Red Lobster, which just wasn't as nice.
This past Saturday, we finally made it back out to the Riverview Restaurant. My parents and sister were more then happy to watch Liam while we went out.
I even bought a new dress for the occasion. It was hard paying full price for it, but Brent convinced me to keep it. I was ready to take the dress right back to Target.
The restaurant was beautiful. Wood floors, open beam, candle light, and a view of the Sandy River. Not only was it esthetically pleasing, but the food was also top notch. Our appetizer was seared Ahi Tuna, then crab ravioli, and the curry seafood tower for dinner.
We were able to save $22 on our meal by purchasing a gift certificate at Restaurant.com. Usually it costs about $10 for a $25 certificate, but they often have discounts and I was able to get $25 for $2. We did have to spend a minimum of $50 in order to use the gift certificate, but it's easy to do in such a nice restaurant.
After dinner, we had some time to kill, so went to Kohls and utilized the $10 coupon I had. Nothing very exciting, but we got a good cheese grater for a couple dollars out of pocket. Then it was off to our movie. "Arthur" was full of' laugh out loud' moments. Brent noticed they didn't take the usual easy, and anticipated jokes. It was very clever.
While we were out, Liam enjoyed his time with Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie. They took him for a walk, went to the park, and Liam wore himself out playing fetch with their dog, Blue.
We got back to my parent's house around 10pm. Liam had already been asleep for a couple hours by the time we got there. He woke for a moment while we put him into the car, but he slept the whole 40 minute drive back home and easily transfered into his bed.
We had a fabulous time, and look forward to more dates in the future. I'm so grateful for my parents willingness to watch Liam. Free babysitters make dates a lot more affordable :)
