Brent comes from Montana where snow is not an uncommon thing. He remembers the first snow often falling on Halloween, and having to choose a costume that would fit over his snow gear. Snow would often be on the ground all the way through their spring break in March. However, snow in Portland is rare and loved by many.
We didn't get much today. Just some very wet slush that didn't stick much at all, but Liam was over the top excited about it. At the first sight of a dusting he immediately called our cat Stella to come see it, and insisted on getting shovels out to dig in the snow. Sadly, I had to tell him there wasn't enough for digging, but thought we could at least take a walk while the big flakes lasted.
The snow pants Liam got as a hand me down fit! We're ready to head out in the snow/slush.
Liam didn't want to stop walking in it. He thought Stella should walk with us... She didn't.
I finally convinced Liam to come back inside by tempting him with hot chocolate. He drank barely any chocolate, but ate lots of marshmallows :)
Well... The snow has stopped, and the sun is breaking through. It won't be long until all traces of the slushy stuff is gone. It was fun while it lasted, and I still hope we'll get a good snow in the valley this winter.
