As part of our remodel, one of the things we're replacing is flooring. Our dining room currently has carpet, which we plan on removing and replacing with wood laminate floor. Before installing the new floors, we need to remove the molding. Therefore, I took on that project while Brent was at work. Unfortunately, when I pulled back the molding, I found dark mold. Then we pulled back the carpet and found water damage. This means we need to file a second insurance claim. The mold and water saturated parts will need to be torn out, and the back door needs to be replaced.
I'm not happy about filing a second claim with our insurance company, and my brain hurts just thinking about the cost, work, and coordination that is required for this second project.

We did do something very exciting on Wednesday. We removed the wall between our living room and dining area! We've wanted that wall out since we put an offer on the house over 3 years ago. The wall would have been gone sooner, but we had been unsure whether it's load bearing or not. Thankfully not :)

| Drywall is gone, and we can see from the dining room into the living room. |
| The drywall made a HUGE mess with tons of dust to clean up afterwards. |
| How things look today. Half the wall is gone, and only the wires remain. Don't worry. The breaker for them has been switched off. |
| Now we have one big room with only Liam's play area and our kitchen divided. I can't help but daydream about the finished product. |
